In the beginning

So welcome to my little blog about Cosplay! Please don’t expect it to be updated regularly, or for it to be that great (I failed English at high school quite badly). But I’ll try to go through all my cosplays that I’ve made or purchased and hopefully share some fun pictures and stuff.

To begin with we go way way back to 2015, I had always heard about Armageddon (One of the conventions in New Zealand) but had never actually been. After hearing that people dressed up and went a long, I though it might be fun. I dug out an old Dorothy costume I had and promptly cut the neckline down. One day I’ll work out why I did that and I’ll let you know.

Thankfully I think this is the only image that exists of that cosplay!

I went along and enjoyed the day quite a lot, I was amazed by all these stunning cosplayers and knew this was something I wanted to get into.

In 2016 I won a ticket to go to the Manukau Armageddon, So decided that would be my proper cosplay debut! Of course I couldn’t just pick any normal cosplay to make, I had to go for something amazing and eye catching. So I made Carina from Guardians of the Galaxy. You know, that character with only a couple of minutes screen time before she dies? I had horrible fabric choices and knew absolutely nothing about makeup. But I did it, Went along and had a heap of fun running around. A few people recognized my character so I thought it was pretty neat. I also did a Pocahontas cosplay, but I threw that together very last minute.

The biggest thing to come out of Armageddon was the discovery of the Cosplay completion. I was amazed by these stunning cosplays and knew I wanted to make one just as awesome. Also this was the first event where I actually was brave enough to talk to some of the cosplayers, I’m so glad I did, because I made some awesome friends!!
